Range in New England

The moose is found throughout the states of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. The largest population is in Maine.

This mammal is also found in most of western and central Massachusetts, with some sightings in eastern Massachusetts.

There is a small resident population in northeastern Connecticut as well as some casual visitors along the Massachusetts border. There have been very rare sightings of Moose in Rhode Island.
