Note: According to our sources, the New England range of the black-tailed jackrabbit is currently limited to Nantucket Island, MA.  Of the New England states, it was orginally introduced to Nantucket (MA), Martha's Vineyard (MA), and Maryland.

Update from 2017: According to the Mass. Dept. of Fish and Game, this rabbit may now be extirpated on Nantucket.
