Habitat: Marshes; shrubby swamps; wet roadside ditches; overgrown
weedy fields and hayfields.
Diet:
During nonbreeding period: weed seeds and waste grains.
During breeding season: mostly insects, spiders, millipedes, and snails.
Also, some small fruits and berries
